New Lumpfish Hatchery Being Built

A new state-of-the-art lumpfish hatchery is being built at BMRS. The building will include a nursery as well as on-growing facilities. Building commenced January 2018 and it should be fully completed by April 2019.

New eggs were delivered at the beginning of February. This latest intake of eggs have hatched and the fish are doing well in the new incubation recirculation unit. Another intake of eggs will occur at the beginning of April and a final intake in May. This will produce approximately 500k lumpfish. These fish should be available to sell between September and March of 2020.
